Volunteer

Make a Difference in Our Community

Beautiful Downtown Lewiston (BDL) is a non-profit organization with a small staff, meaning volunteers are essential to our success! Our volunteers come in all shapes and sizes, and they each bring a different skill set to BDL. The main criteria for becoming a BDL volunteer is the desire to work alongside other community members to make downtown Lewiston a more vital and inviting place. Does this sound like you? We’d love to have you join us!

Our Committees

Most BDL volunteers are part of one of our four core committees: Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization and Promotions. Committees meet for 1 hour planning meetings once a month, with volunteers occasionally asked to contribute additional time for events and other programs. Regular meeting times are listed below, though are subject to change.

Design Committee

Meets the Fourth Thursday at 8:00 a.m., Mike Cannon, Committee Chair

Economic Restructuring Committee

Meets the Fourth Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., Wendy Price, Committee Chair

Organization Committee

Meets the Second Monday at 4:00 p.m., Michelle Witthaus, Committee Chair

Promotions Committee

Meets the Second Friday at 10:00 a.m., Brandon Johnson, Committee Chair

Some of BDL’s major events (such as The Price is Right Downtown, Downtown Art Walk, and Lewiston’s Hot August Nights) are planned with the help of a special sub-committee which typically only meets 6 months out of the year, often requiring more than one meeting per month.
