Properties with Possibilities Tour

June 18, 2020 | 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM | DOWNTOWN LEWISTON

Lewiston, ID— Beautiful Downtown Lewiston’s “Properties with Possibilities Tour” will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020. In its fourth year, the Properties Tour provides entrepreneurs, investors, and curious community members with an opportunity to view ten or more commercial properties in varying stages of rehabilitation that are available for rent or purchase for commercial investment.

The short-term impact of COVID-19 on downtown businesses remains to be seen. “As of right now, we’re unaware of permanent business closures that would lead to significant commercial vacancy,” said Courtney Kramer, BDL Executive Director, in a press release. “If anything, downtown Lewiston’s position as the regional center of small, locally owned businesses is strengthened. The Properties Tour is an efficient way for entrepreneurs to view several properties in one morning.”

Properties on the 2020 tour include:

  • Casey’s Dance Hall, on the second floor of 842 Main Street
  • Ground floor commercial tenant space at Jacobsen Mall, 613 Main Street
  • The former Zions Bank, at 623 Main Street

Most of the properties on the tour have access to the Port of Lewiston’s “dark fiber” for high-speed internet. “We’re seeing an uptick in community members looking for office space downtown,” noted Kramer. “Many people unexpectedly ended up working remotely from home this spring only to realize that their home internet service doesn’t have the bandwidth to handle a videoconference while your child is streaming something on a device. We’ve dozens of calls this spring from people looking for a small office space downtown that has access to high-speed gig internet.”

Initially scheduled for May 7, the Properties Tour was delayed to June 18 due to COVID-19 precautions. To protect the public’s health, a maximum of 50 tickets will be sold to the event. Most of the discussion of the available properties will be held outdoors, and participants are encouraged to wear facemasks to limit exposure to prevent accidental community spread of COVID-19. Each of the properties shown on the tour will provide sufficient space for social distancing during the tour. To provide additional space for social distancing, tour attendees will be separated into smaller groups when touring smaller properties on the tour.

Tour tickets are free for BDL members and $20 for the public. Tour tickets must be purchased in advance by June 16 and are available on BDL’s website at:

The tour will begin at 9:00 am at Blue Lantern Coffee House, at 326 Main Street. Participants are advised that closed toed shoes are recommended and not all properties on the tour are accessible to persons with disabilities. In consideration of COVID-19 concerns, the luncheon and keynote presentation offered in previous years will not be included in this year’s event.
