The Price is Right Downtown

MARCH 1, 2019 | 5:00PM-9:00PM | LOCATION TBD

Thank you for joining us for our 7th annual fundraiser event, The Price is Right Downtown!

Beautiful Downtown Lewiston (BDL) is pleased to report the success of their 7th annual fundraiser, the Price is Right DOWNTOWN, held on March 2, 2018. BDL broke records for the number of attendees and the amount of money raised at the event.

Two hundred and seventy-five attendees entered their ticket stub into a box in hopes of being drawn as one of the lucky 24 ticket-holders called to “Come on Down!” as a contestant. In a nod to long-time Price is Right host Bob Barker’s affinity for animals, sixty-nine attendees received an extra entry by bringing an item to donate to the Lewis Clark Valley Animal Shelter, thanks to a sponsorship from Orchards Pet Hospital. Attendees wearing a shirt specially made for the event were also rewarded with an extra entry.

Contestants who came the closest to correctly guessing the price of an item won a prize for making it to the stage to play a Price is Right game. Contestants who won their game also won a prize and were entered in the Showcase Showdown.

Six rounds of games ended in a Showcase Showdown where Angie Olson won a bar-height oak table and coordinating stools donated by Cornerstone Interiors. “All of the contestants won their games, which was a first,” noted Courtney Kramer, BDL Executive Director. “Only the Second Showcase prize remained to be drawn for when the show was done, which was crazy!”

Amanda Gill won the second Showcase Prize, a stay and play package that included a night at the Red Lion Lewiston Hotel, a Moscato tour by Twisted Vine Wine Tours and dinner at Café Rueben, by buying the lucky oversize playing card earlier in the night. “We sell giant playing cards for $20 during cocktail hour,” said Kramer. “At the end of the night, we give away un-won prizes by pulling playing cards from a smaller deck of cards. If you have the matching oversize card, you win the prize.”

Ticket sales for the event, as well as raffles and games during Cocktail Hour, raised a new record of $12,817 for BDL, which is the 501c3 nonprofit organization leading the revitalization of downtown Lewiston through business recruitment and retention, enabling property redevelopment and coordinating events and promotions for Lewiston’s historic commercial core.

BDL Board President Mike Cannon noted the organization’s gratitude for the 29 volunteers who helped the organization pulled the event off. “Downtown Chic lent us decorations, volunteers strung lights and set up tables, moved the game sets and built the stands and acted as Bob Barker, Rod Roddy and one of Barker’s Beauties. It’s really an amazing team effort.  We owe a big thanks to Corey Sandstrom for playing ‘Bob Barker,’ to Anne Robertson for acting as a ‘Barker’s Beauty’ and to KOZE 103.9 The River’s Matt Dangerfield as ‘Rod Roddy.”
